On May 25th, 2025 we threw a party - Reed Security’s 25th Birthday - and 1,500 people showed up. Clients, families, staff, vendor partners, friends, and our community all came together to celebrate at Gather Local Market in downtown Saskatoon.

We called it BOUNCEFEST, and yeah - it was a lot of fun:
The most bouncy castles ever assembled in downtown Saskatoon.

But it wasn’t just about bounce. It was about connection. Laughter. Gratitude. And the kind of collaboration you only get when Partners show up for each other.

This month, we’re celebrating Ariel Hamblin, who has been a key part of Reed Security for the past nine years! 

Ariel is our Accounting & Administration Manager, and she’s played a huge role in helping us grow and succeed. 

We sat down with Ariel to hear about her journey, what she loves about her work, and her thoughts on Reed’s success.

Why do you love working at Reed Security?

“It’s the family environment. Everyone is supportive, and I genuinely enjoy the work I do - it’s rewarding and keeps me engaged every day.”

What’s your role, and what do you do day-to-day?

“I’m the Accounting and Administration Manager. I oversee the Department, handling onboarding, contracts, and sales for our dealer network. My goal is to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.”

What makes Reed Security different?

“We care about each client as an individual, not just a number. We focus on understanding their needs and providing security solutions that truly fit them and their needs.”

How has Reed Security grown over the years?

“We’ve added a lot of staff, and we’ve really grown into a family. Plus, the company has expanded nationwide, which is amazing to see.”

What’s a memorable moment from your time here?

“Definitely the staff events - barbecues, YXE smash therapy, axe throwing - I love when we do fun things together that build our team spirit.”

What do you love doing outside of work?

“I’m a mom, and we love to travel, garden, and just enjoy life together.”

What’s your best advice for someone starting a career at Reed?

“Learn how to find and access resources independently. Be the person who takes ownership and gets things done.”

1. Smart Alarm System

   - Door sensors and smart motion detectors

   - Remote arm/disarm functionality for added convenience

   - Electronic door locks and gate control using smartphones

How Acadia Leverages Alarm.com

User Management: Quickly add, modify, or remove access for up to 150 employees - no more physical keys. New smartphones simply require new mobile credentials.  

Zone‑Specific Permissions: Define access levels for yard gates, the shop floor, and the office with tailored schedules.  

After‑Hours Monitoring: The system auto‑arms every evening at a specified time, sends confirmation when armed, and alerts on any non‑typical activity - like an HVAC service door opening at 5:10 AM or unexpected entry at 8:56 PM.  

Video Verification: Link alarms to live camera feeds to verify incidents remotely. If a false alarm occurs, Jason can disarm the system and clear the event from his phone within seconds.  

Remote Control: Arm or disarm the system and unlock doors via the Alarm.com mobile app to ensure authorized personnel can enter without delay.

Last night my oldest daughter Kalynn (age 8) made a picture and gave it to me with strict instructions:

"Daddy I want you to give this to your best worker at your workplace tomorrow"

I chose Kevin as Kalynn's "Best Worker Award".

Kevin Dubois is an expert security technician at Oxford Security, Reed Security Authorized Dealer in Calgary.

Kevin came all the way from Calgary to sleep on a hotel bed and eat take out food (even having to endure watching his beloved Flames lose in overtime on hotel Wi-Fi) to help us get caught up in Residential and Small Business installations.

He absolutely crushed it completing a week's worth of work in 4 days.
