When a home is designed with flawless aesthetics, your security system should blend right in - without compromising on safety.

At Reed Security, we believe that luxury living and peace of mind go hand in hand. Recently, we had the opportunity to prove just that at 924 Saskatchewan Cres East, a stunning luxury spec home masterfully renovated by the talented team at Centennial Kitchen and Bath.

We were brought in to outfit this spectacular property with a seamless, cutting-edge smart home security system.

Watch the Walkthrough Video

Michael Shaw and Virgil Reed recently visited the property to showcase the new setup. We walk you through the gear we used to secure this home, highlight some of our favorite smart features, and - as you’ll see - manage to have a little fun along the way.

The Challenge: Balancing Aesthetics and Security

In today’s high-end real estate market, smart security isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s an absolute expectation.

However, one of the biggest challenges in luxury renovations is installing robust security without cluttering the beautiful design. You don't want bulky hardware distracting from fresh paint, custom cabinetry, and modern finishing touches. The technology needs to be highly effective, yet virtually invisible.

The Solution: Seamless Smart Security

For 924 Saskatchewan Cres East, we designed a customized system that works quietly in the background while giving the homeowner complete control from the palm of their hand.

While the exact setup of every home varies based on the owner's needs, high-end installations like this one typically feature:

AI-powered Cameras: High-definition cameras that provide crystal-clear monitoring. Comes with built in person and vehicle detection.

Smart Access Control: Keyless entry and smart locks that allow homeowners to grant access to contractors, cleaners, or guests directly from their smartphone.

Seamless Home Automation: Integrating security with smart lighting and climate control for a house that responds to your schedule.

24/7 Professional Monitoring: The ultimate peace of mind, knowing that Reed Security is watching over the property around the clock.

A Masterpiece by Centennial Home and Bath

We have to give a massive shoutout to Centennial Home and Bath. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on this renovation are truly second to none. It is always a privilege to bring our tech into a space that has been so beautifully crafted. SUMMER SECURITY TIPS 2026

Summer is for unwinding, exploring, and leaving your worries behind. It shouldn't be spent wondering if your home is safe. This season, we are rolling out our definitive guide to protecting your property, engineered to give you absolute peace of mind while you enjoy the sun.

Below is your exclusive hub for the complete 2026 Reed Security Summer Tips. Bookmark this page. As we release our bite-sized, premium video guides across social media all summer long, you can find the entire collection right here.

Tip 1: Leverage Your Neighbourhood Watch

Share info about suspicious activity or crime with Police and neighbours.

A secure home starts with a vigilant neighborhood. If you see something out of place - like someone checking car doors late at night - communicate. Sharing real-time information with local authorities and your neighbors creates a proactive, invisible shield around your entire street.

Tip 2: Stop Advertising Your Home is Empty

Don't post photos or videos on social media while you are travelling.

We all love sharing our summer adventures, but broadcasting your location in real-time is an open invitation. Posting those beach selfies tells the world exactly where you are - unless you want everyone to know your home is empty, save the photo dumps for when you are safely back.

Tip 3: Lock Down the Perimeter

Lock windows and doors before leaving your home.

It sounds simple, but it is the most crucial step in home protection. Before you pack the car and head out for the weekend, take a final walkthrough. Check them all. A cracked window on the second floor is all the invitation an intruder needs. Secure the perimeter, completely.

Tip 4: Bright Yards Deter Break-Ins

Keep your property well-lit at night.

Light is your silent watchman. Burglars don't like to be seen; they thrive in the dark blind spots of your yard. By keeping your property illuminated with smart, automated lighting, you strip away their biggest advantage.

Tip 5: Hide It or Lose it

Don't leave expensive stuff outside.

That premium mountain bike or expensive patio equipment? It's a magnet for wandering eyes. The rule here is uncompromising: don't leave expensive stuff out in the open unless you want it stolen. Bring it inside, lock it in the garage, or secure it out of sight.

Tip 6: Don't Let your Property Look Vacant

Get someone to pick up mail and mow the lawn.

An overflowing mailbox and an overgrown lawn are the ultimate green lights for trespassers. Intruders target unoccupied properties. By having a neighbor or friend maintain your home’s daily routine, you project an active, lived-in presence - even from hundreds of miles away.

Tip 7: Invest in Proven Smart Tech

You are 400% less likely to have a break-in.

When common sense meets advanced technology, your home becomes a fortress. The statistics are undeniable: properties are exponentially safer with a Reed smart home security system. Let our Reed Security stop sign be the first and last thing an intruder sees.

Absolute Peace of Mind. On Your Terms.

Upgrading your home's defense should be as relaxing as your vacation. Discover how affordable a custom Reed Smart Home Security system can be with a personalized, no-obligation quote.

YWCA SASKATOON NAMED FIRST COMMUNITY CAMERAS RECIPIENT

At Reed Security, one of our core values is Care. We talk a lot about protecting the communities we serve, but recently, we decided to put our tools where our mouth is.

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful installation of our inaugural Community Cameras project, and the very first recipient is the truly deserving YWCA Saskatoon.

They are currently putting the finishing touches on a brand-new, 90-space childcare center located at 140 Wall Street. This facility is a much-needed extension of the amazing work they already do at their 25th Street location, and we wanted to ensure their new space was as safe and secure as possible.

Trading Our Desks for Toolbelts

To make this massive project happen, we did something unprecedented: we completely shut down the Reed Security office for the day.

We formed cross-departmental installation teams to get the work done together.

The Experts: Our experienced technicians stepped up as project team leads, guiding the process from start to finish.

The Rookies: Members of our sales, admin, and support teams traded their everyday tasks for non-traditional roles, pulling wire, mounting cameras, and learning the ropes.

It was a phenomenal day of hands-on learning, cross-training, and team building. Getting out from behind our screens to physically build a safer environment was the ultimate expression of how much we care about our community.

Peace of Mind for Local Families

For the YWCA, safety isn't just a feature; it's a necessity.

Carla Huntington, the VP of Development & Engagement at the YWCA, shared that security is top of mind for their organization. The families dropping off their children at the new 140 Wall Street location need to know their kids are in a safe, monitored environment. Providing that ultimate peace of mind is exactly what the Community Cameras project is designed to do.

Carla also mentioned how easy and pleasant the grant process was, noting that without community support and great security, they wouldn't be able to do the vital work they do.

Does Your Non-Profit Need Smarter Security?

We couldn’t be happier with how our first Community Cameras installation turned out, and we are already looking forward to the next one.

If you are part of a local non-profit organization that could benefit from a state-of-the-art security system, we want to hear from you!

WHY REMAI PROPERTY GROUP CHOSE ACTVGRD™

Proactive. Intelligent. Uncompromising.

The Future of Site Security is Here.

When developing premium real estate, the standard for security shouldn’t just be a physical presence. It should be intelligent, seamlessly integrated, and uncompromisingly reliable. Protecting valuable assets, equipment, and timelines shouldn't feel like a cost center - it should feel like an operational advantage.

For Remai Property Group, the status quo of reactive security simply wasn't enough. They needed a solution as forward-thinking as their developments.

Enter ACTVGRD.

The Challenge: Beyond the Perimeter

Construction sites are inherently vulnerable. At their newest development at 151 Pawlychenko Lane in Saskatoon, SK, Remai Property Group faced the same critical challenges every major developer faces.

Theft: High-value tools and essential materials are prime targets.

Vandalism: Senseless damage that causes costly delays and compromises quality.

Liability: Meeting strict Builders Risk Insurance requirements without inflating the budget.

Traditional security measures - like static cameras that only record the aftermath, or expensive physical guard patrols - leave gaps. Remai Property Group needed a system that didn't just watch, but actively protected.

The Solution: ACTVGRD™ by Reed Security

Deployed by the integration experts at Reed Security, ACTVGRD™ is more than just a camera on a pole. It is a comprehensive, live video monitoring service paired with a state-of-the-art mobile surveillance units.

It represents a paradigm shift in how we secure environments:

Always On: 24/7 continuous live monitoring ensures absolute, unbroken coverage.

Active Deterrence: It doesn't just record what happened; it anticipates and deters threats in real-time, stopping losses before they occur.

Intelligent Economics: ACTVGRD™ fully satisfies Builders Risk Insurance requirements at half the cost of traditional security guards. Better protection. Smarter investment.

The Remai Experience

When technology works this flawlessly, the results speak for themselves. Barry Remai, President of Remai Property Group, shares how ACTVGRD™ has fundamentally transformed their site operations.

"Our biggest risk is thieves who want to steal tools or materials. But even worse than that is the potential for vandalism. This was the first building we decided to go with video surveillance, and we went with Reed Security based on their reputation and the technology they brought... The key is stopping losses before they happen, not just detecting them. I think these live monitoring camera systems are the way of the future."

-Barry Remai, President, Remai Property Group
