New & Noteworthy

1,179 NEW SUPERFANS AT REED SECURITY

In October 2024, we set a long-term goal at Reed Security:

10,000 SuperFans by December 2034.

This wasn’t about chasing fast growth.

It was about building something that lasts.

So we put the goal on the wall in our hallway. Hand drawn. Impossible to ignore. A daily reminder that customer experience is the work.

Real Progress. Real People.

In 2025, we’ve added 1,179 new SuperFans.

Most of them are right here in Saskatchewan, where we’ve built our reputation delivering smart home security and business security with a local-first mindset.

At the same time, we’re expanding across Canada through our Authorized Dealer network, bringing the same standards and expectations to new communities.

Growth matters. Consistency matters more.

How We Define a SuperFan

We don’t guess. We measure.

SuperFans are tracked through:

Google Reviews

  • 4.6 stars rating
  • #1 rated security company in Saskatchewan

Post-installation surveys

  • Feedback from smart home and business security installs

Client referrals

  • The highest compliment we can earn

Support Desk reviews

  • Because service doesn’t end after install day

Client testimonials

  • Real experiences, not marketing copy

If it’s not tied to real feedback, it doesn’t count.

Why Experience Comes First in Security

Security is personal. Whether it’s your home or your business, trust is everything.

Customer experience isn’t a department at Reed Security.

It’s the strategy.

We believe in Expert Local Service:

  • Local technicians and local support
  • Real people answering the phone
  • Same-day follow-up whenever possible
  • Owning issues and fixing them properly

That mindset is what allows us to serve Saskatchewan well and responsibly expand across Canada through dealers who share our standards.

Playing the Long Game

We’re proud of the 1,179 SuperFans added in 2025, but the real focus is the next one.

That’s how you build a company people recommend, whether they’re looking for smart home security in Saskatchewan or business security anywhere in Canada.

If you’re already a SuperFan, thank you.

If you’re not yet, we’re ready to earn it.

LOCK IT DOWN

Burglars look for the easiest target. If your home looks like too much work, they move on.

Here’s how to make your place tougher to break into:

🔒 Lock all doors and windows

Front. Back. Upstairs. Basement. Double check the ones people usually forget.

🪟 Install window bars on basement windows

They’re affordable, easy to install, and instantly make your home less appealing to a thief.

💡 Inspect your window locks

Just because it looks closed doesn’t mean it’s secure. Give each lock a tug and fix anything loose or flimsy.

🚗 Lock your vehicle too

Thieves often target vehicles parked in driveways and on the street. Always lock your doors, close the windows, and never leave valuables in plain sight. Garage door openers, wallets, and spare keys are hot targets. A quick check before bed can prevent a lot of headaches.

Most break-ins happen because someone made it easy. Don’t be that someone.

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF KEEPING YOU SAFE

Happy New Year!

2025 is a BIG year for us - Reed Security is celebrating 25 years of keeping you safe.

When I started this company in 2000 my goal was simple: provide effective security solutions with expert local service. A quarter century later, we’ve grown a lot, but our commitment to you has never changed.

Security has come a long way since the early days.

Basic alarms have become smart home and business security systems with intuative touch screens. Control your alarm, cameras, lights, locks and temperature with one single app.

Black and white video surveillance systems have become smart camera systems with Artificial Intelligence. Security cameras can identify people and take action.

Local keyless entry systems have become smart access control systems that can be controlled from anywhere. Remotely buzz people in or unlock doors at your building with a smartphone.

We’ve worked hard to stay ahead of the curve. What hasn’t changed is our focus on building relationships. You’re not just clients; you’re part of the Reed family.

Thank you for trusting Reed for 25 years!

DON'T LET THE GRINCH STEAL CHRISTMAS!

Use Reed Security's checklist to keep The Grinch away this holiday season.

☐ 1. SHARE INFORMATION

  • Create a WhatsApp group and let your neighbours know if The Grinch has been in the area.
  • Join your local Neighbourhood Group on Facebook and learn about recent activities.
    eg: Stonebridge Neighbourhood Watch
  • Share video and images from your doorbell camera or security cameras.
  • Share information with the Police as it may help with an arrest.

☐ 2. DO NOT ADVERTISE YOU ARE AWAY

  • Ask all strangers for identification. The person who is “lost” and looking for directions could actually be The Grinch checking to see if someone is home.
  • DO NOT advertise on Facebook or Instagram that you are travelling. You may think you’re letting your friends and family know you’re having a great time, but people often forget to change their privacy settings. If you like to post photos - post them after you get back.

☐ 3. LOCK YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS

  • The Grinch targets unlocked doors - including vehicle doors. Make sure all doors and windows are locked.
  • If you lose a key get the locks changed.
  • A better alternative is to eliminate keys altogether by installing an Alarm.com smart lock with built in keypad.
  • Install monitored door and window sensors.
  • When your security system is "armed" an instant alert is sent to your smartphone and our 24/7 Monitoring Stations.
  • Some properties may require security roll shutters to keep intruders out.

☐ 4. KEEP THE LIGHTS ON

  • The Grinch targets unoccupied homes - so keep your home well lit at night.
  • Install exterior motion lights that turn on when there is movement.
  • Install timers to turn on lights, radios and televisions on at different times. This gives the appearance that someone is home.
  • A better option is to install Alarm.com smart lights and smart plug modules - setup on alternating schedules.

☐ 5. INSTALL A SMART SECURITY SYSTEM

  • $0 Smart Security systems range from $39.99 to $89.99 a month
  • Protection against intrusion, fire, carbon monoxide, flood, low temperature and more...
  • Elegant touch screen and hub for home automation devices
  • Control with Alarm.com smartphone and desktop apps
  • Includes 24/7 professional monitoring
  • 400% less likely to have a break-in
  • Up to 20% off homeowners insurance - consult your insurance company

☐ 6. INSTALL SMART CAMERAS

  • The Grinch avoids homes with outdoor security cameras
  • Get instant alerts when The Grinch or a visitor is at your property
  • Check on your property from Anywhere
  • All events are recorded and can be used as evidence
  • Secure your entire property in color 24/7 with our $0 ColorVu Camera Sale
